Service learning



  • Where are you working for your service learning?
I am doing service learning at Dunamis Power  Youth Organization, I deal with ages 2-5 
Also January 28 I will be working at Broad Oaks which is a preschool on Whittier college campus.
  • Who is your contact?
My contact would be for Dunamis Carlos Martinez which i have done most of my hours at his number is 562 965-3007 
  • Summarize the services you have performed to complete the 10 hour requirement
I have been taking care of children ages 2-5 for two hours having play time, giving nutritious snacks, having them being able to communicate with words. Many other things involving children development when it comes also to grow with others and use words not hitting. 
  • How many hours have you worked?
I have worked 47 hours

EHSS ;D

ESLR
L: life long learner is what I am focusing on in my senior project. Anything I am learning with child development will only boost my intelligence raising my son in a better environment etc.

I: I have already done this with my independent work with my son. I have learned many aspects of how to raise a child and I see my son much happier with many changes on how I raise him 

A: it will help me become more educated by learning life long teachings on how to nurture a child. Especially my child.

1. what are three things you find challenging when working with children 
2. Do you feel that child find that development comes from Nature or from Nurture 
3. With a child's Cognitive learning always progressing do you feel that genetics take a big part in this.
4. In one of the projects I've done i read an artical that stated they weren't sure if left handed children developed any differently then right handed, what is your take on this 
5. what is the best way to raise a child in an environment of media, peer pressure etc 
6. what years do you believe to be crucial in a child's life 
7.When feeding a child the wrong foods does that generally take a toll on their learning 
8. What are some issues that one can see in when I child is trying to master their speak and language
